A lake beneath
the highest peak
Radon Lake is our most popular route — one of the few high-altitude lakes in the region you can reach by car.
The lake sits at 1,920 metres at the foot of Voroshilov Peak (2,776 m) — the highest summit near Ridder. Its distinctive colour, striking mountain setting and sheer accessibility make it genuinely unique.

A road half a
century old
The track to the lake was built in the 1970s during mineral exploration — two shafts were drilled, the operation wound up, and the road remained. Today we drive that same road.
A military firing range of the Central Asian Military District — the Ridder garrison that later served in Afghanistan — was stationed nearby.
The drive, the lake,
the summit
The ascent follows a demanding mountain serpentine — a genuine off-road experience worth the trip in itself. At the top: the lake, the silence, the views.
Optionally, the route includes a guided ascent of Voroshilov Peak — from a leisurely alpine stroll to a full hiking summit. Our guides are certified and carry the necessary permits.
